Albert Edward Lockyer

Photo of Albert Lockyer Albert was my grandfather. He married my grandmother, Amy Lodge, at St James Church in Pokesdown. Her father, Soloman, was from Parkstone in Poole but her mother, Martha (née Burgess), came from Charlton in Somerset.

Albert was an unfortunate man. His daughter Margaret died in her teens, his wife died in 1932 from TB and, not long after this, he lost his eldest daughter, May. During the war years, he lived with his daughter Rose, but later, after the war had ended, he moved to the home of his son Edward. He died there from a heart attack at the age of 72.
